01 Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Azizbek Mizamov, an individual developer trading as PowerApps ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the ClearWay application for iOS (the "App").
Short version: ClearWay has no server, no account and no analytics, and collects nothing about you. What it does do is point your device at a DNS resolver run by somebody else — and that operator can see the domain names your device looks up, which is why every resolver in the app states its own logging policy before you pick it.
By downloading or using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
02 Information we collect
We collect none. The App does not ask for, gather or transmit any of the following:
- Name, email address, phone number or any other contact detail
- Account credentials — the App has no sign-up or login
- Location data, whether precise or coarse
- Contacts, photos, calendar or health data
- Device identifiers used for advertising or cross-app tracking (IDFA)
- Usage analytics, event logs, session recordings or heat maps
- Payment or financial information
The App contains no third-party analytics, attribution, crash-reporting or advertising software development kits. We operate no server that receives data from the App.
The App does send DNS queries, and you should know where they go. That is the whole point of it: when you switch a resolver on, iOS sends every domain lookup from your device to that resolver, and when you tap Test, ClearWay sends a short list of probe domains to it directly. Those queries go to the operator you chose — AdGuard, Cloudflare, Mullvad, Quad9, NextDNS, Control D, Yandex or your own endpoint — never to us. The connection is encrypted, so the network between you and the resolver cannot read it, but the resolver itself necessarily can. Section 05 covers what that means.
03 Information stored on your device
To remember your preferences between launches, the App may store a small amount of non-personal configuration locally using Apple's standard on-device storage:
This configuration never leaves your device, is not readable by us, and is removed when you delete the App. It is separate from the DNS queries described in section 02, which do go to the resolver you picked.
04 Device permissions
ClearWay asks for no permissions at all. Its Info.plist contains no
NS*UsageDescription keys, because there is nothing to request: no microphone, no
camera, no location, no contacts, no photos, no local network access and no notifications.
There is no permission prompt to accept or decline, and no feature that is withheld for
want of one.
iOS does ask you to approve the DNS configuration itself, once, in Settings. That is Apple’s own confirmation step for changing system DNS, not a data permission, and ClearWay is not allowed to perform it on your behalf.
05 Third-party services
The resolver you choose is a third party, and it sees your lookups. ClearWay does not run any DNS service; it configures your device to use one of the public resolvers listed in the app, or one you enter yourself. Whoever operates that resolver receives the domain names your device asks about and can, depending on their policy, log them. The app states each operator’s stated logging policy on its row and links to its own privacy policy; those policies are theirs, not ours, and we cannot vouch for them. If you would rather nobody new saw your lookups, do not switch a resolver on.
The App itself integrates no third-party services. However, the App is distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple independently processes certain information as part of that distribution — for example download and purchase records, aggregated and anonymised usage statistics you may have opted into, and crash reports you choose to share with developers.
That processing is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not by this one. Any aggregate statistics Apple makes available to us cannot be used to identify an individual user. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
This website (powerapps.site) is served as static files. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It does load a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch the font file; that request is subject to Google's privacy policy.
06 Purchases
ClearWay is free to download and offers one optional in-app purchase, ClearWay Pro — a one-time, non-consumable unlock that is never charged again and is shareable with your Family Sharing group. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card, your name or your Apple Account. Whether you own it is read on your device from Apple’s signed transaction record, so there is no receipt server and no account for us to keep.
Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or receive your card number, billing address or Apple Account credentials, and we receive no report from Apple that identifies you personally. Refunds and billing questions are handled by Apple through your purchase history.
07 Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because the App collects no personal data from anyone, it collects no personal data from children either. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, contact us and we will address it.
08 Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR (European Economic Area and United Kingdom) and the CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights over your personal data, including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port it, and to opt out of its sale.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or delete — and we have never sold or shared personal data, because we have none. To remove every trace of the App's local data, simply delete the App from your device. You may still contact us with any question about this policy.
09 Data security
The App keeps its preferences inside the iOS application sandbox, protected by the operating system and by your device passcode and encryption, and the parent passcode in the Keychain as a salted hash rather than as text. We hold no database that could be breached, because we hold nothing.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
