01 Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Azizbek Mizamov, an individual developer trading as PowerApps ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the PowerDAF application for iOS (the "App").
Short version: PowerDAF collects nothing about you. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Live audio is processed in memory as you speak and is never saved; a recording is made only when you tap record, and it stays in a temporary folder on your iPhone. Everything you do in the App stays on this iPhone unless you choose to share it, and the only connection the App makes is to Apple’s App Store, for the Pro purchase.
By downloading or using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
02 Information we collect
We collect none. The App does not send us, or anyone else, any of the following:
- Name, email address, phone number or any other contact detail
- Account credentials — the App has no sign-up or login
- Location data, whether precise or coarse
- Contacts, photos, calendar, or data from Apple Health
- Device identifiers used for advertising or cross-app tracking (IDFA)
- Usage analytics, event logs, session recordings or heat maps
- Your voice, your recordings, or anything you write, rate or plan in the App
- Payment or financial information
The App contains no third-party analytics, attribution, crash-reporting or advertising software development kits. We operate no server that receives data from the App.
Some of what you can enter in the App — how speaking felt, your tension before and after, the avoidance diary, notes on real situations — is about your speech and your health. That is exactly why the App sends none of it anywhere. The sections below say where each thing is kept and how to remove it.
03 Microphone
The App uses the microphone for three things:
- There is no speech recognition, no transcription and no analysis of how fluently you speak. The App never counts stutters
- No audio, and nothing derived from it, is sent anywhere — the App has no server to send it to
iOS asks for your permission once, during the introduction, after a screen that explains why — or the first time you open a feature that needs it. You can say no. Live DAF, finding your delay and recording yourself will then not work, and everything else does: breathing, the metronome, the techniques, reading aloud, “Before talking” and the progress log. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.
If you lock the screen or switch to another app during a DAF session you started, the session keeps running, so that you can use it in a real conversation. iOS shows its microphone indicator the whole time. The session ends when you end it, when the headphones are disconnected, or when a phone call or another interruption takes over the audio. A recording, by contrast, stops as soon as the App goes to the background.
04 Voice recordings
Recordings are kept only in the App’s temporary folder, so that you can listen back to your latest take:
- Only the latest take is kept. Starting a new recording deletes the one before it, and leaving the screen you recorded on deletes that one too
- All of them are deleted the next time the App starts, and by Reset all data (section 13)
- They are never uploaded, and they are not part of the export or of iPhone backups
05 Information stored on your device
Your practice log, presets and settings, the avoidance diary and ladders, your “Into real life” moments, your reading favourites and progress, and your own texts are kept inside the App, in its own sandbox on this iPhone:
The App adds no name, account or identifier to any of it. The developer never receives any of it, and it is removed when you delete the App. If your iPhone backs up to iCloud or a computer, iOS includes this data in the backup, as it does for any app; that backup is handled by Apple or by your computer, not by us. The temporary folder is not backed up.
06 Export
Settings › Log and export offers a copy of your practice log as a JSON file — for yourself, or to show your speech-language therapist. The file holds only the practice log: no recordings, no diary, no plans and none of your own texts.
It is created on the iPhone, in the App’s temporary folder, when you open Log and export, and it goes only where you send it yourself with the iOS share sheet. Once you have sent it somewhere — to Files, to yourself, to your therapist — that copy is in the hands of whoever or whatever received it. We never receive it unless you send it to us. Reset all data deletes the file too.
07 Device permissions
PowerDAF asks for two permissions, and you can refuse either:
- Microphone — the only usage description in the App’s
Info.plist(NSMicrophoneUsageDescription). In English, iOS shows: “The microphone is needed for delayed auditory feedback (DAF) and to record your speech during exercises. Audio is processed only on this device and is never sent anywhere.” See section 03 - Notifications — asked only when you turn on a reminder. See section 08
It does not use the camera, location services, contacts, the photo library, calendar, Apple Health, speech recognition, local network access or tracking, and it asks for no Bluetooth access — Bluetooth headphones work through iOS’s normal audio routing. Declining either permission leaves the rest of the App usable.
08 Notifications and the lock screen
Both reminders are optional and stay off until you turn them on. iOS schedules them on the device — there is no notification server.
While DAF is running, the lock screen may show the word “Speech” and a timer, next to the App’s name as iOS shows it for any app playing audio — nothing about your settings, and never the word “stuttering”.
You can turn reminders off in the App, or in Settings › Notifications › PowerDAF. Reset all data turns them off as well.
09 Siri and Shortcuts
Siri and the Shortcuts app can see the names and descriptions of your presets, so that you can pick one — for example for the Action button. The shortcut tells the App only one thing: open the Speech screen with that preset. All of this happens on your iPhone, and none of it reaches us.
Apple handles a spoken request to Siri under its own terms.
10 Third-party services
The App connects to one thing: Apple’s App Store. It does so through StoreKit, Apple’s own purchase system, to show the price of Pro and to buy or restore it. Those requests carry nothing you did or wrote in the App. There is no other network code in the App: no server of ours, and no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or other third-party software development kits.
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple independently processes certain information as part of that distribution — for example download and purchase records, aggregated and anonymised usage statistics you may have opted into, and crash reports you choose to share with developers.
That processing is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not by this one. Any aggregate statistics Apple makes available to us cannot be used to identify an individual user. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
The links to this policy and to the Terms of Use inside the App open in your web browser; the App itself loads no web pages. This website (powerapps.site) is served as static files. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It does load a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch the font file; that request is subject to Google's privacy policy.
11 Purchases
PowerDAF is free to download and offers one optional in-app purchase, PowerDAF Pro — a one-time, non-consumable purchase that is never charged again and can be shared with your Family Sharing group. It is not a subscription and it does not renew.
Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and your payment details never reach the developer: we never see or receive your card number, billing address or Apple Account credentials, and we receive no report from Apple that identifies you personally. On the iPhone, the App keeps only a note of whether Pro is bought; restoring it on another device is a question put to Apple, not to us.
Nothing in the App requires a purchase, so nothing in it requires a parent or family organiser to approve anything. If Ask to Buy is switched on for your family and you tap to buy Pro, iOS shows its own request, which you can cancel; if you send it, Apple passes it to your family organiser. Refunds and billing questions are handled by Apple through your purchase history.
12 Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because the App collects no personal data from anyone, it collects no personal data from children either. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, contact us and we will address it.
13 Your rights, and deleting your data
Privacy laws such as the GDPR (European Economic Area and United Kingdom) and the CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights over your personal data, including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port it, and to opt out of its sale.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or delete — and we have never sold or shared personal data, because we have none. What the App keeps is on your iPhone, and you control it directly:
- In the App, Settings › Log and export › Reset all data deletes the log, presets, settings, the avoidance diary and ladders, your “Into real life” moments, reading favourites and progress, your own texts, voice recordings and the export file, and turns the reminders off
- Your language, appearance, quick-launch and breathing-cue choices and your Pro purchase stay
- Deleting the App removes everything it stored. Copies inside backups you made earlier are managed by iOS, by Apple or by your computer, not by us

14 Data security
The App keeps its data inside the iOS application sandbox, protected by the operating system and by your device passcode and encryption. Live audio is never written to storage — it exists only in a memory buffer that is continuously overwritten. The only connection the App makes is to the App Store, through Apple’s own purchase system, and it carries nothing you entered. We hold no database that could be breached, because we hold nothing.
The App has no passcode of its own: anyone who can unlock your iPhone can open it and see your log, diary and plans.
15 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
